Candidate must be enrolled as an undergraduate Theatre major in the Communication and Theatre
Department, must demonstrate high academic standing and demonstrate conviction to pursuing a career in theatre.  Candidate must also demonstrate financial need. 


Awards from the foundation go towards direct costs only, such as tuition/fees, and meal plans/housing.

Awarded to students with demonstrated financial need who have participated in the Kean University Adelante program.

Awarded to an undergraduate student enrolled in the bachelor of science in science and technology degree program with a minimum 3.2 GPA.

Award granted to an outstanding undergraduate student pursuing studies in piano performance. Student must have completed one full semester at Kean with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Scholarship application must show student’s motivation for pursuing studies in piano.

Scholarship will be awarded to freshmen entering Kean University who are deemed to be among the best and the brightest high school seniors in the areas of academics, community services, or athletics, each scholarship will cover 100% of in-state tuition costs (not including mandatory fees) and can be renewed for three(3) additional years at Kean if the student maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Estabrook scholars will not be eligible for any other scholarship funds

Awarded to full-time freshmen in the College of Business and Public Administration with a minimum 3.4 GPA and SAT score of 1000.

Awarded to undergraduate theatre majors in performance, theatre, or stage management

This scholarship is awarded to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are majoring in areas of business administration. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and proven financial need.

Awarded to full-time undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have been accepted to study abroad through the Kean University Study Abroad Program. Preference will be given to students with financial need.

Awarded to a junior or senior speech-language pathology student with a minumum 3.5 GPA and financial need.

Awarded to a music major who has exhibited academic excellence and exceptional performance ability on a musical instrument.

Candidates will be enrolled in the gerontology collateral program, who intends to pursue a career in aging services. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Granted to sophomore, junior, or senior public administration majors with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference given to students with Kean extracurricular involvement, particularly in student government.

For undergraduate students aged 25 or older. Recipients must have at least 60 college credits, a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

A merit/talent based scholarship awarded to an undergraduate majoring in theatre or theatre and education. Audition/portfolio review and interview required.

Student must be a graduate of public high school in Elizabeth, New Jersey, with scholastic average ranking in the top third of their graduating class; available to freshman and sophomore students at Kean University; be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Have demonstrated financial need; including a letter indicating a high degree of motivation in seeking a college education.

Provide financial support to full-time Kean University junior or senior student whose major is in Early childhood Education and who demonstrate financial need. in the event that all candidates have similar profiles, the candidate with the greatest financial need will be selected as the recipient of the scholarship. In the event no candidates(s) meet the above stated criteria, the Foundation will select a candidate (s) with the greatest financial need.

Candidates should be majoring in elementary or science education and have completed 18 semester hours, have a minimum 3.3GPA and are committed to excellence.

Awarded to sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in education and preparing for a teaching career. Recipients must be New Jersey residents with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Candidates must be enrolled in a pre-medical program and have a minimum 3.5GPA. Candidates must be American-born U.S. citizens, show proven financial need, have diverse interests and talents, as well as ethical attitudes, and services and allegiance to the United States.

Candidates must be juniors or seniors enrolled in programs in the College of Liberal Arts with a minimum 3.0GPA. To be eligible include in your essays a focus on a global justice issue affecting the developing world. 

Awarded to a junior or senior in good standing who has demonstrated a commitment to global justice. Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in the humanities and social sciences. A brief essay about how global justice issues affect the developing world.

Candidates must be a junior or senior majoring in English Writing with a minimum 3.25 GPA and proven financial need.

Candidates must be undergraduate seniors or graduate students majoring in Occupational Therapy with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Candidates are junior or senior undergraduates with a minimum 2.5GPA, who are enrolled full-time in the Teacher of Students with Disabilites option.

Granted to unmarried students who are recent high-school graduates and enrolled in health-related fields. Must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Candidates must be majoring in education and preparing to teach in the sciences. Students must have a minimum 2.5GPA and financial need.

Restricted to students from Newark; Minimum GPA 3.0; Sophomores; English & Education major. Initial awards are $500.00 each until the fund is able to generate 2 $1,000.00 awards annually.

Candidates must be incoming freshmen who have attended High School in Bergen County, with a minimum 3.0GPA and who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to education majors.

Candidates must be majoring within the College of Business  and Public Management and preparing for a career in business. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA with proven financial need.

Candidates must be full-time freshmen in the College of Business and Public Management with a minimum 3.4GPA and SAT score of 1000.

Candidates must be a sophomore, junior, or senior theatre majors (any option) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Candidates are freshmen or sophomore who entered Kean through the Entry Program into College (EPIC). Financial need and academic achievement are determinants for consideration.

Candidates are undergraduate science majors with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Candidates must be undergraduate students majoring in Theatre or English with a minimum 3.0 GPA

Candidates must be undergraduates pursuing a degree in the Fine Arts with a minimum 3.0 GPA. 

This scholarship is bequeathed by alumna Frances J. Greany M ’73 ’81.  Candidates must be elementary education majors.

Awarded to a junior or senior in the Robert Busch School of Design who has already been accepted to the BFA Graphic Design program. Successful candidates must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and proven financial need.

Candidate must be a self-supporting occupational therapy student preparing for clinical fieldwork, who demonstrates financial need and has a minimum 3.2 GPA.

Candidates must be enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program who have completed 60 credits, a minimum of a 3.2 GPA, and proven financial need.  Qualified students should have work experience in a child-care center.

Candidates must be graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and documented community service.

Candidates must exhibit commitment to environmental science, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.

Candidates must be sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate students majoring in special education or early childhood education and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.  Selected candidates will be invited for an interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee.

Candidate must be a senior music-education major who plans to teach in a New Jersey public school. Student must be a U.S. citizen from Union County, N.J., and enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to residents of Springfield, N.J. planning to teach at the elementary school level.

Awarded to part-time Elementary Education majors level with proven financial need who plan to teach on the elementary school level.

Candidates must be enrolled in the Teacher of Students with Disabilites option with a minimum 3.0 GPA  and express interest in a career working with adults with disabilities.

Candidates must be bilingual undergraduate students who are graduates of Project Adelante and have a minimum of 3.5 GPA.

Candidates must be in good academic standing and demonstrate that they are unable to complete their course of study without financial assistance. 

Candidates must be theatre majors or minors who are interested in studying Theater in London.

Candidates are incoming freshmen who have a minimum 3.0 GPA, minimum 1000 SAT, and demonstrated financial need. Preference given to business majors.

Candidates are undergraduate students and must currently reside in Elizabeth, NJ. Preference given to student applicants and/or United State Veterans.

Candidates are New Jersey residents who demonstrate financial need and are planning to pursue teaching careers in chemistry, biology, physics or earth science. Additionally, preference given to students who must adjust daytime employment to perform student teaching are given priority.

Candidates should be age 40 or older, who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to students in the Department of Occupational Therapy.

For students majoring in one of four major areas of design: Advertising, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or Interior Design.  Minimum 3.0 GPA in the major area with 60+ credits.  Preference given to students seeking to study in Rome program.

Candidates will be a senior studying special education who has demonstrated academic proficiency, community service and shows evidence of future leadership in the field.

Candidates will be graduate students with outstanding academic records as well as achievement in service to children and families. Applicants must provide evidence of continued commitment to excellence in teaching and professional leadership.

Candidates are graduate students with a declared major in social work.

Candidates are graduate students in the occupational therapy program entering their final or Fieldwork II semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate client centered values and demonstrate specialization in mental health or the psycho-social aspect of the profession.
 

$1,000 each academic year. Application must be reviewed by OT Department since they will have personal knowledge of the candidates. All graduate scholarship applicants of the occupational therapy (OT) Program, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 of a possible 4.0, and have demonstrated exemplary character, client-centered values, and dedication to a specialization in the mental or Psycho-Social aspect of the OT program and profession. This scholarship will be awarded during either the final semester or fieldwork II semester to a student whose character and approach to the profession of occupational therapy most closely resembles that demonstrated by Kathy Hering-Brady during her practice. These faculty members may nominate up to three candidates for the award. Final selection will be made consultation with designated Family members (to be designated by Donald Brady). In the event that no candidates are recommended, the scholarship will not be awarded that year.

Candidates will be a United States Veteran who has received an Honorable Discharge. Preference is given to a veteran who served in active duty in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Candidates will be junior and senior members of the Kean University Lambda Alpha Sigma Honor Society. Students must be enrolled full-time and have completed a minimum of 32 credits at Kean.

Candidates will be in sophmore status for the awarding year and exhibit academic excellence.

Recipient must be a incoming freshman from Elizabeth, NJ public high school, who is earnestly motivated and has ranked academically in the upper third of their graduating class; the scholarship recipient must complete the standard University scholarship application; the recipient must demonstrate financial need.

Candidates will be undergraduate students studying visual arts or art history.

Candidates are undergraduate students from any human rights related program with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Candidates are majoring in elementary education or early childhood education, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. 

Candidates are undergraduates with a junior or senior status OR graduate students with a minimum 3.5 GPA and proven financial need. Student must demonstrate career goals in the fields of human health or education.

Candidates are full-time upcoming junior or senior majoring in elementary education and a second major in English with a minimum of 3.25, and have demonstrated financial need. 

Candidates are Kean University students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who identify as LGBTQIA or allies of LGBTQIA individuals or communities. Applicants do not have to be LGBTQIA, and will be considered regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. An essay is required on a LGBT topic. If conducting research related to LGBTQIA individuals or communities, also include a one-page synopsis of the research. Preference will be given to full-time students.

Essay Topic, Please write a minimum of a 500 word essay with references in APA format on a topic pertaining to LGBTQIA+: examples include history, education, society, and/or politics.

Candidates are undergraduate students aged 25 or older who have earned at least 60 college credits, a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Candidates are undergraduate accounting majors with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference is given to New Jersey residents living in Hudson, Union or Essex counties.

Scholarship to be awarded with a minimum of $500 per semester. Candidates must have minimum GPA 3.0, with proven financial need, sophomores, juniors or seniors who are active members of a local Kean University Greek Organization. Preference to the NU Theta Chi.

Candidates are undergraduate students who are New Jersey residents and have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Awarded to juniors and seniors residing in Newark, Roselle, Elizabeth or Linden. Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and proven financial need.

Candidates are juniors majoring in elementary education. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need.

Candidates must be matriculated in one of the graduate options of the Psychology Department at Kean University.  Student will have had to complete of at least 15 semester hours in the program and no more the 48 semester hours by the end of the Spring 2022 semester. Students should have earned a cumulative average of 3.5 or higher

Candidates will be qualified undergraduate Nursing majors studying full or part-time at Kean University with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA (3.0 may be considered).  Candidates must be mature, non-traditional student who balance academics with family responsibilities. Having children and/or dependents preferred but not required.

Candidates must be juniors and seniors in the research track of the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics Education (NJSTM) program.

This scholarship is awarded in memory of Richard Cudina, a Kean alumnus who was killed in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001.

Candidates must be incoming freshmen with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA who are in the upper 10th percentile of their graduating class and New Jersey residents.  

Candidates will be in their junior or senior year majoring in early childhood education who are New Jersey residents with a minimum 3.5 GPA with demonstrated financial need.

Candidates will be senior year students majoring in early childhood education who are New Jersey residents with a minimum 3.5 GPA with demonstrated financial need.

Granted to students enrolled in the master teacher track of the New Jersey center for Science, Technology and Mathematics (NJCSTM) program. Preference given to students with financial need.

Candidates will be in their sophomores, junior, and senior year with a 3.0 GPA and majoring in a program within the School of Fine and Performing Arts.

Candidate will be a current Kean University student that is a member of Sigma Beta Tau. Academic merit, financial need and leadership qualities are considered for selection.

Current Kean University student that is a member of Sigma Beta Tau, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, proven financial need, and are junior & seniors in the academic year of the award. Merit and leadership qualities in making their selection.
 

Minimum GPA between 3.0 – 3.5; proven financial need ( who is paying for their own education is working); education or human service related majors; freshman, sophomore, junior and/or seniors; student must have record of volunteer and/or community service activities*. These activities should be documented as to number of hours spent in activity and on type of activity. Student should also have a proven record of working to pay most of their college expenses and have financial hardship in the family. *prefer activities be services to needy people in the community, re: care of elderly sick, young children, tutoring underprivileged children etc.

Candidates are freshmen, sophomores or juniors who demonstrate academic excellence, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, are involved in Kean University community activities and exhibit leadership qualities.

Candidates are full-time undergraduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have completed a minimum of 18 credits at Kean. Preference given to students with financial need. Successful candidates should demonstrate good character and actively participate in extracurricular programs and leadership activities that benefit the Kean University community.

Candidates are undergraduate students majoring in business or education programs and have earned a minimum 3.25 GPA.  Candidates will have exhibited an outstanding level of drive and personal initiative through campus, extracurricular, and community involvement. Preference is given to Essex County residents.

Candidates will be majoring in education programs, including programs in the New Jersey Center for Science and Technology Education (NJSTM). Preference will be given to students enrolled in master’s programs in Education through the Nathan Weiss Graduate College.
" In conjunction with the donor’s family, the spendable income will fund scholarship for students of financial need with preference to education majors, including the New Jersey Center for Science and Technology Education (not more than 10%) and 40% to be for the New Curriculum Majors. Balance display based on criteria for scholarships (1). So 90% of the balance display is for New Curriculum major"

Candidates are undergraduate students majoring in instrumental music with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students concentrating on piano or violin.  Candidates will also need to be New Jersey residents specifically from of Union or Essex County. 

Available for music major or minor, who plays an instrument that would typically be part of a symphony orchestra or classical ensemble. I would ask that priority be given to individuals with an interest in either the violin or piano. Additionally, I request that priority be given to students from Union or Essex Counties of New Jersey. Finally, I ask that financial need also be considered when making the final determination.

Candidates will be undergraduate students majoring in broadcast journalism and have high academic standing and demonstrate financial need.  Students should demonstrate a conviction to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.

Candidates will be sophomore, junior or senior students pursuing degrees in the helping professions, such as counseling, nursing, education or social work, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and proven financial need.

For students majoring in architecture or design, such as:  Advertising, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or Interior Design. Minimum 3.0 GPA in the major area with 60+ credits.  Qualified candidates may be required to submit a portfolio with 5 or 6 examples of creative work displaying the student’s ability to think visually.

Candidates will be full-time stduents who will be a junior or senior in the upcoming year.  Canddidate will have earned 39-credit in the English major which includes both surveys of British & American literature & senior seminar with a minimum 3.25 GPA.

Provides financial support to the full-time upcoming junior or senior who is in the 39-credit English major which includes both surveys of British & American literature & senior seminar with a minimum 3.5 GPA out of a possible 4.0.

Candidates will be a full-time junior or senior who  has earned 39 credits in the English major which includes both surveys of British and American literature and senior seminar with a minimum 3.25 GPA.

Candidates are students with high academic achievement in interior design.
