The scholarships listed are those that were awarded for the previous academic year. Therefore, there may be changes to the scholarships offered for the upcoming awarding cycle. This information is shared so you may have some understanding of the various criteria evaluated for scholarship eligibility. Use the options below to determine your search criteria. Adelaide AnnaMarie Kornau Endowed Scholarship in Theatre

Candidates must be undergraduate theatre majors in high academic standing who demonstrate financial need and have a conviction to pursue a career in theatre.




Adelante Annual Scholarship

Awarded to students with demonstrated financial need who have participated in the Kean University Adelante program.




Adriana C. Brennan Alumni Annual Scholarship

Awarded to students from any major with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a demonstrated financial need. 


Albert and Helen Mazurkiewicz Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to an undergraduate student enrolled in the bachelor of science in science and technology degree program with a minimum 3.2 GPA.




Alumni Association Annual Honor Scholarship

For Kean alumni matriculated in graduate degree programs who have exhibited exceptional academic excellence.

For Kean Alumni matriculated in graduate degree programs who have exhibited academic excellence.




Andrea Abramson Annual Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to one student per year; applicants must be matriculated as part-time undergraduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who have completed a minimum of 30 credits and demonstrate financial need




Andrea Abramson Scholarship CPTS*

Awarded to one student per year; applicants must be matriculated as part-time undergraduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who have completed a minimum of 30 credits and demonstrate financial need.


Andrew George DeGrado Endowed Piano Scholarship

Award granted to an outstanding undergraduate student pursuing studies in piano performance. Student must have completed one full semester at Kean with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Scholarship application must show student’s motivation for pursuing studies in piano.




Anne Evans Estabrook Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship will be awarded to freshmen entering Kean University who are deemed to be among the best and the brightest high school seniors in the areas of academics, community services, or athletics, each scholarship will cover 100% of in-state tuition costs (not including mandatory fees) and can be renewed for three(3) additional years at Kean if the student maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Estabrook scholars will not be eligible for any other scholarship funds




Arthur Geilfuss Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to full-time freshmen in the College of Business and Public Administration with a minimum 3.4 GPA and SAT score of 1000.




B.J. and Helen Fidurski Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduate theatre majors in performance, theatre, or stage management




Barbara & Paul Wyciskala Endowed Scholarship

Provide financial support to incoming Kean University Junior or Senior students enrolled in a program within the College of Business & Public Management who are maintaining a GPA of at least 3.25 and are, preferably, the first in their family to attend college.


Barbara Ann Kloss ’76 Annual Scholarship in Business Administration

This scholarship is awarded to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are majoring in areas of business administration. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and proven financial need.




Barbara J. Lecomte, Ph.D. Annual Scholarship in Speech-Language Pathology

Awarded to a junior or senior speech-language pathology student with a minumum 3.5 GPA and financial need.




Barbara M Grant Annual Scholarship

Awarded to a student of any major who has earned a GPA of at least 3.00 and has completed at least 30 credits in courses at Kean University.
 


Be the Change Scholarship

Granted to students who have made a significant contribution to social change through community service. Strong preference is given to “Be the Change” student club members. Financial need is also preferred and a supplementary essay of not more than 250 words highlighting the student’s community service and social change involvement is required.




Bodzioch Scholarship for the Advancement of Science

Minimum GPA 3.0; with proven financial need; who are freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors; renewable each year provided that the student maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0 and is enrolled in either the STEM Program or a program within the School of Natural, Applied & Health Sciences. 



Brautigan Family Annual Music Scholarship

Awarded to a music major who has exhibited academic excellence and exceptional performance ability on a musical instrument.




C. Malanga Annual Scholarship

Incoming female Kean University freshmen from a public high school in Elizabeth, NJ; be a non-African American woman for any ethnic descent; have demonstrated financial need


Carol Condon, PH.D & Joseph Condon, Ph.D Endowed

Consideration for this scholarship will be given to a Junior or Senior year student at Kean University majoring in Economics, preferably minoring in either mathematics or Computer Science, maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA overall and 3.25 in Economics


Caroline Jolly Family Alumni Endowed Scholarship

Granted to sophomore, junior, or senior public administration majors with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference given to students with Kean extracurricular involvement, particularly in student government.




Charlotte W. Newcombe Endowed Scholarships for Mature Student

For undergraduate students aged 25 or older. Recipients must have at least 60 college credits, a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.




Choregos Endowed Scholarship

A merit/talent based scholarship awarded to an undergraduate majoring in theatre or theatre and education. Audition/portfolio review and interview required.




Christine M. Wilson Endowed Scholarship

 Offered to entering freshmen who are undertaking a program of study in the College of Natural, Applied and Health Sciences; award will be for four-year period providing the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.3.  Must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student. 


Christopher A. Turner Endowed Memorial Scholarship

To provide financial support to a Kean University student from Monmouth County (with a preference for Middletown, New Jersey and or having graduated from Middletown High School South), majoring in Accounting in the College of Business and Public Management, and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0.


CIDM Annual Scholarship

Claire Goldstein Alumni Association Memorial Scholarship

This Alumni Association scholarship is granted to students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership, and contributions to community service.




Class of 1960 Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing any major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.




Clement J. and Birgit M. Zotta Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be an enrolled undergraduate student who is a United States Veteran who has received an Honorable Discharge.  Students may be pursuing any major with a minimum 2.5 GPA. 




Concert Artists Scholarship

Candidates may be new incoming freshmen showing exceptional musical talent and promise with a minimum 3.0GPA.  Auditions may be required.




Cookie & Ed Esposito Annual Education Scholarship

Candidates must be education majors in sophomore, junior and senior year with a minimum 3.0 GPA.




Damarys Vazquez Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Candidates must be a resident of Elizabeth, NJ and an incoming female freshman majoring in Early Childhood Education. 




Dan & Margie Charleston Endowed Scholarship in Early Childhood Education

Candidates must be pursuing a major in early childhood education with a mnimum 3.0GPA.


David A. Kirpan Annual Scholarship for Business & Entrepreneurship

Candidates must be New Jersey resident who is a junior or senior with a minimum 3.25 GPA and proven financial need and pursuing a program in the College of Business and Public Management.


Dawood Farahi Public Service Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and majoring in public administration, criminal justice, occupational therapy or nursing.




Department of Chemistry and Physics Annual Scholarship

Candidates must be full-time undergraduate students majoring in physics, chemistry or a chemistry-related area with a minimum 3.5 GPA, who demonstrates financial need.




Department of Interior Design Scholarship

This award goes out to three interior design students each year; one freshman, one sophomore and one senior.




Department of Theatre Scholarship

Candidates may be freshmen, sophmore, junior, or seniors who intend or have declared their major in Theatre or Theatre Education.




Deshon Johnson Memorial Annual Scholarship

Candidate must be full-time Kean University undergraduate or graduate student with preference given to a student whose major is in business or a business-related area and who demonstrates financial need. 




Design Leadership Annual Scholarship

Candidates must be a junior or senior in the Robert Busch School of Design who has already been accepted to the BFA program. Successful candidates must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and proven financial need.




Distinguished Alumni Annual Scholarship

Candidates must be full-time juniors or seniors with a minimum 3.7 GPA, who demonstrate financial need.


Divina Malanga Annual Scholarship

This scholarship will provide financial support to females from Elizabeth (NJ) High School who are incoming freshman ranked in the upper third of their class demonstrating financial need. 


Divina Malanga Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Candidates must be females from Elizabeth (N.J.) High School who are incoming freshmen ranked in the upper third of their class and demonstrate financial need.




Doree Denberg Stark Scholarship

Candidates must be a full-time Kean University junior or senior student whose major is in early childhood education and who demonstrate financial need. 




Dorothy and George Hennings Endowed Scholarship in Education

Candidates should be majoring in elementary or science education and have completed 18 semester hours, have a minimum 3.3GPA and are committed to excellence.




Dorothy Miniscalchi-Martino Endowed Scholarship

Candidates may be an incoming or continuing Kean University undergraduate student who intends to become a teaching professional and studies in the College of Education who demonstrates financial need. Incoming students must have a minimum GPA of 3.25: continuing students must attain a 3.0 to be considered. This scholarship can be continued through the duration of the student’s enrollment at the College of Education. A minimum 3.0 GPA must be maintained for continuation of scholarship eligibility.


Dorsey-Gaines Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in education and preparing for a teaching career. Recipients must be New Jersey residents with a minimum 3.0 GPA.




Dr. Amelia L. Smith Pre-Medical Scholarship

Candidates must be enrolled in a pre-medical program and have a minimum 3.5GPA. Candidates must be American-born U.S. citizens, show proven financial need, have diverse interests and talents, as well as ethical attitudes, and services and allegiance to the United States.




Dr. Barbara A. Wheeler Scholarship

Candidates must be juniors or seniors enrolled in programs in the College of Liberal Arts with a minimum 3.0GPA. To be eligible include in your essays a focus on a global justice issue affecting the developing world. 




Dr. Carol Williams Annual Memorial Scholarship

Candidates must be highly qualified students studying in the Master of Social Work program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.




Dr. Eileen Kennedy Endowed Scholarship in Writing Studies

Candidates must be a junior or senior majoring in English Writing with a minimum 3.25 GPA and proven financial need.




Dr. Karen Stern Memorial Scholarship

Candidates must be undergraduate seniors or graduate students majoring in Occupational Therapy with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.




Dr. Nickie B. Berson Special Education Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are junior or senior undergraduates with a minimum 2.5GPA, who are enrolled full-time in the Teacher of Students with Disabilites option.




Dr. Sharon Brendzel Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Candidates must be majoring in education and preparing to teach in the sciences. Students must have a minimum 2.5GPA and financial need.




Dr. Stanley H. Lipson Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be New Jersey resident who is enrolled full-time or has been accepted to a Kean University degree program in a computing or mathematical discipline. The student must also demonstrate academic talent, financial need and have a minimum 3.0GPA.


E. Alma Flagg Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be from Newark, NJ and English and education majors.




Edmund Spiro '68 '70 Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be a sophomore, junior or senior art education major with a minimum 3.0GPA and proven financial need. 


Edward and Dolly Miltner Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be incoming freshmen who have attended High School in Bergen County, with a minimum 3.0GPA and who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to education majors.




Edward McColgan Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be majoring within the College of Business  and Public Management and preparing for a career in business. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA with proven financial need.




Emma Geilfuss Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be full-time freshmen in the College of Business and Public Management with a minimum 3.4GPA and SAT score of 1000.




Encore! Theatre Scholarship

Candidates must be a sophomore, junior, or senior theatre majors (any option) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.




EPIC Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are freshmen or sophomore who entered Kean through the Entry Program into College (EPIC). Financial need and academic achievement are determinants for consideration.




Estelle Novak Alumni Association Annual Scholarship in Science

Candidates are undergraduate science majors with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Estelle Ritchie Annual Scholarship for English

Candidates are freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors who have declared or intend to major in English. Preference given to students with an interest in dramatic literature, fiction, and/or playwriting. Scholarship may be renewable with review.


Estelle Ritchie Endowed Scholarship in Theatre

Candidates may include incoming freshmen majoring in theatre with a minimun grade point average of 3.0GPA.

Candidates must be undergraduate students majoring in Theatre or English with a minimum 3.0 GPA




Fine Arts Department Annual Scholarship

Candidates must be undergraduates pursuing a degree in the Fine Arts with a minimum 3.0 GPA. 




Frances J. Greany M'73 Endowed Scholarship in Elementary Education

This scholarship is bequeathed by alumna Frances J. Greany M ’73 ’81.  Candidates must be elementary education majors.




Frank Anderson Memorial Design Scholarship

Candidate must be an incoming freshman in the Robert Busch School of Design who demonstrates proficiency and talent in graphic design, with a minimum 3.25 GPA and a demonstrated financial need.  A portfolio review by Design faculty members is required. 




Frank J. Bulfin Endowed Memorial Occupational Therapy Scholarship

Candidate must be a self-supporting occupational therapy student preparing for clinical fieldwork, who demonstrates financial need and has a minimum 3.2 GPA.




Frank J. Lineberry Memorial Scholarship

Candidates must be an incoming freshman, freshman or sophomore with a 2.5GPA and proven financial need.


G. Evelyn Foster Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Candidates must be enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program who have completed 60 credits, a minimum of a 3.2 GPA, and proven financial need.  Qualified students should have work experience in a child-care center.




George Hennings Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be a junior or senior majoring in one of the sciences. The student must have a 3.4 GPA or higher and has been an enrolled Kean University student for a least two semesters.


Global MBA Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are graduate students matriculated in Global MBA program with a minimum 3.5 GPA.   This award will cover up to 3 credits of in-state graduate tuition each semester.


Grace and Marshall Nielsen Scholarship

Candidates must be NJ residents in their junior year and majoring in accounting with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Strong preference will be given to students working their way through school.

Awarded to full-time undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have been accepted to study abroad through the Kean University Study Abroad Program. Preference will be given to students with financial need.




Graduate Student Government Association, Inc. Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and documented community service.




Gudaitis Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Candidates should me in the New Jersy Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics (NJCSTME) or a program in the Medical Technology field.  Candidates should have a commitment to medical technology, science, research or related fields. Ideally, the students will be interested in two or more of these fields, reflecting the varied interested and accomplishments of Algird V. Gudaitis. He was also astute in business, the arts , international relations and much more. Also, preferred but not required the student should be somewhat older (21 or above), mature, and have an interest in medical coding


Guy V. Bruce Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must exhibit commitment to environmental science, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.




Harold B. and Dorothy A. Snyder Foundation Scholarship

Candidates must be sophmore, junior, or senior undergraduate students majoring in special education or early childhood education and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.  Selected candidates will be invited for an interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee.




Hazel H. Hardgrove ’79 ’81 Music Education Endowed Scholarship

Candidate must be a senior music-education major who plans to teach in a New Jersey public school. Student must be a U.S. citizen from Union County, N.J., and enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to residents of Springfield, N.J. planning to teach at the elementary school level.




Helen Coombe ’23 Memorial Teaching Scholarship

Candidates must be education majors with a minimum 3.0 GPA and preparing for a career in the teaching profession.




Helen Longacre Endowed Scholarship

Awarded to part-time Elementary Education majors level with proven financial need who plan to teach on the elementary school level.




Helio E. Rosete Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be enrolled in the Teacher of Students with Disabilites option with a minimum 3.0 GPA  and express interest in a career working with adults with disabilities.




J Eduardo Saavedra Endowed Scholarship

Canddiates must be bilibual undergraduate stduents who are graduates of Project Adelante and have a minimum of 3.5 GPA.




Jacqueline Rose Fidurski Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be in good academic standing and demonstrate that they are unable to complete their course of study without financial assistance. 




James R. Murphy Endowed Scholarship for London Theatre Study

Candidates must be theatre majors or minors who are interested in studying in London.




Jane D’Onofrio Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are incoming freshmen who have a minimum 3.0 GPA, minimum 1000 SAT, and demonstrated financial need. Preference given to business majors.




Jeralyn Lawrence Annual Scholarship

Candidates must be a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in criminal justice or public administration major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Student needs to be an on-campus resident student and a New Jersey resident. 


Jim Hynes ‘63 Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are undergraduate students and must currently reside in Elizabeth, NJ. Preference given to male applicants and/or United States Veterans.




Jim Stamey Memorial Scholarship for Teachers of the Sciences Sponsored by The Raptor Trust

Candidates are New Jersey residents who demonstrate financial need and are planning to pursue teaching careers in chemistry, biology, physics or earth science. Additionally, preference given to students who must adjust daytime employment to perform student teaching are given priority.




Joanne Hurley Florentino Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are adult women, age 40 or older, who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to students in the Department of Occupational Therapy.




Joe and Josie Gonnella Annual Scholarship in Visual Communications

Candidates are students majoring in visual communications in the department of design. Students must have a 3.0 GPA and proven financial need.




John Edward Haffly Endowed Scholarship

Candidates will be a senior studying special education who has demonstrated academic proficiency, community service and shows evidence of future leadership in the field.




John J. & Gloria Sasson Russell Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are sophomore, junior or senior students with a minimum 3.0 GPA, majoring in any of the sciences within The Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology.


John J. Kinsella Scholarship

No application necessary. This scholarship is granted automatically to the graduate student with the highest GPA who has completed one year of graduate coursework in mathematics education. Recipient must be a New Jersey resident.




Joseph and Rosella Morrissey Scholarship

Awarded to Juniors and Seniors majoring in education and preparing for a teaching career in grades K-5. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.




Joseph Wilf Memorial Scholarship

Candidates must be enrolled with a minmimum grade point average of 3.0 and proven financial need.


Julius and Katheryn Hommer Foundation Scholarship

Candidates are juniors or seniors in the research track in an academic program within the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics (NJCSTM).




June Moss Handler Endowed Scholarship in Early Childhood and Family Studies

Cadndiates will be graduate students with outstanding academic records as well as achievement in service to children and families. Applicants must provide evidence of continued commitment to excellence in teaching and professional leadership.




Karen Kassak Mullen Endowed Scholarship for Social Work

Candidates are graduate students with a declared major in social work.




Kathy Hering-Brady Scholarship

Candidates are graduate students in the occupational therapy program entering their final or Fieldwork II semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate client centered values and demonstrate specialization in mental health or the psycho-social aspect of the profession.




Kean Federation of Teachers Endowed Scholarship

Canddiates are undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in full-time or part-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA and have demonstrated financial need.




Kean University Counselor Education Dept Student Endowment

Consideration for this award will be given for educational enrichment and professional development of graduate students fully admitted to the Department of Counselor Education. 


Kean University Foundation Endowed Scholarship

Canidates are Kean University's best and brightest undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of academics and community service. Eligible candidates plan to reside on-campus and have a minimum 3.0 GPA with demonstrated financial need




Kean University Foundation General Annual Scholarship

Candidates will be deserving Kean University new or current undergraduate and graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA and proven financial need. 


Kean University Veterans Association Scholarship

Candidates will be a United States Veteran who has received an Honorable Discharge. Preference is given to a veteran who served in active duty in Afghanistan or Iraq.




Kean University Veteran's Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be United States Veteran who has received an Honorable Discharge, and earned a minmium  of 3.0 GPA.  Preference given to a veteran who served in Active Duty in Afghanistan or Iraq.


Kenneth Muller Interior Design Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are juniors in the interior design program with a minimum 2.8 GPA, who have demonstrated artistic abilities and financial need. Preference will be given to one traditional and one non-traditional student.




Kevin and Beth Alton Annual Scholarship

Candidates are in sophomore, junior, or senior year, United States citizens with a minimum 3.25 GPA and demonstrated financial need . Preference given to students majoring in chemistry or a chemistry-related area. 




Kevin and Beth Alton Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are in their sophomore, junior, or senior year, United States citizens with a minimum 3.25 GPA, and demonstrated financial need.  Preference given to students majoring in chemistry or a chemistry-related area.




Lambda Alpha Sigma Endowed Scholarship

Candidates will be junior and senior members of the Kean University Lambda Alpha Sigma Honor Society. Students must be enrolled full-time and have completed a minimum of 32 credits at Kean.




Lennie Pierro Fine Arts Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are juniors or seniors majoring in the Fine Arts or Studio Art. A departmental portfolio review is required.




Liz McColgan Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Candidates must be full-time Kean University undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in Nursing. In addition, students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA,.  Preference given to students with financial need.


Local Start Global Impact: Kean Sustainability Scholarship

Awarded to students with a minimum GPA 3.5; with proven financial need. Juniors; majoring in the one of the School of Environment and Sustainability Sciences programs which offers range of undergraduate degrees including but not limited to Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean, Environmental, and Sustainability Sciences.


Lucy Jajosky Orfan Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are seniors majoring in elementary education with an academic major in Mathematics and seeking elementary education certification. Students must have a 3.3 GPA or higher and demonstarted financial need. Preference is given to New Jersey residents.




M. Ernest Townsend Endowed Scholarship

Candidates will be in sophmore status for the awarding year and exhibit academic excellence.




Mabel G. Holmes Annual Scholarship

Candidates are incoming freshmen who are graduates from Elizabeth (N.J.) High School and ranked in the upper third of their class with demonstrated financial need.

Margaret Ann Phillips Endowed Scholarship

Cadnidates will be undergraduate students studying visual arts or art history.




Mark Cheng Annual Scholarship for the School of Global Business Management

Candidate will be an outstanding full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum 3.25 GPA, who is enrolled in the Global Business Management program. Scholarship can be renewable. 


Martin Rogers Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship in Human Rights

Candidates are undergraduate students from any human rights related program with a minimum 3.0 GPA.




Mary Ann Giordano Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors with a declared major in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences, and have completed 4 courses in the major. New Horizons Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are Kean University students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who identify as LGBTQIA or allies of LGBTQIA individuals or communities. Applicants do not have to be LGBTQIA, and will be considered regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. An essay is required on a LGBT topic. If conducting research related to LGBTQIA individuals or communities, also include a one-page synopsis of the research. Preference will be given to full-time students.




New Jersey Association of Public Accountants Endowed Scholarship

Candidates are undergraduate accounting majors with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference is given to New Jersey residents living in Hudson, Union or Essex counties.




Newcombe Annual Scholarships for Mature Student

Candidates are undergraduate students aged 25 or older who have earned at least 60 college credits, a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Candidates may be in sophomore, junior or senior status with a minimum 3.2 GPA, who is enrolled in either the STEM program or The Dorothy and Gearoge Hennings College of Science, Mathematics, and Technolgy. The scholarship can be renewed annually, based on the successful submission and review of an application each year. 


President Repollet's Future Scholarship Fund

Candidates muct be a fresehmen or sophmore with a minimum 2.5 GPA and a current New Jersey resident.


Psychology Department Graduate Colloquia

Candidates must be matriculated in one of the graduate options of the Psychology Department at Kean University.  Student will have had to complete of at least 15 semester hours in the program and no more the 48 semester hours by the end of the Spring 2022 semester. Students should have earned a cumulative average of 3.5 or higher

Richard Cudina '78 Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded in memory of Richard Cudina, a Kean alumnus who was killed in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001.

Candidates are undergraduate students majoring in business or education programs and have earned a minmium 3.25 GPA.  .  Candidates will have exhibited an outstanding level of drive and personal initiative through campus, extracurricular, and community involvement. Preference is given to Essex County residents.




The Harwood Endowed Scholarship

Candidates will be majoring in education programs, including programs in the New Jersey Center for Science and Technology Education (NJSTM). Preference will be given to students enrolled in master’s programs in Education through the Nathan Weiss Graduate College.

Canidates are undergraduate students majoring in instrumental music with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students concentrating on piano or violin.  Candidates will also need to be New Jersey residents specifically from of Union or Essex County. .

Candidates will be sophomore, junior or senior students pursuing degrees in the helping professions, such as counseling, nursing, education or social work, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and proven financial need.

Candidates will be incoming freshmen majoring in visual communications with an option in graphic design. Students must have minimum 3.0 GPA.  Qualified candidates may be required to submit a portfolio with 5 or 6 examples of creative work displaying the student’s ability to think visually.




Uma Dharapuram Scholarship for Women’s Studies

Candidates will be residents of Union County, NJ who are in their junior or senior year and have earned a minimum 3.5 GPA. Selected candidates will be required to submit an additional essay describing their educational interests in the area of women’s studies.
